Publisher Description

With AWRE Stream your iOS device can now connect to AWRE as a video source. Use AWRE Stream to add video and audio to your Game, Practice or Training Session. AWRE Stream recordings will automatically integrate with your Team Schedule on AWRE.

Version History - Sessions now has a Video codec control so you can record H.264 instead of HEVC when a player or pipeline needs it. Default stays HEVC; H.264 uses a higher bitrate so quality stays comparable. 2.6 Sep 21 - Shake the device to open the Report a Bug form from anywhere in the app — same form as the Report Bug button in the upload tray.
- Improved logging and monitoring 2.5 Sep 17 - Announcer mode now keeps the camera preview and video pipeline off for the whole shoot, so long booth recordings run cooler and use less battery.
- Video segments now use a single keyframe at the start of each 2-second clip instead of extra IDRs mid-segment or near the end, improving upload efficiency without changing segment length or playback quality.
- Enabling tap-to-focus mid-recording no longer triggers an immediate refocus — the lens stays put until you tap the preview to pick a new focus point.
- Video encoding now scales with your frame-rate setting for more consistent quality and upload sizes (lower at 30 fps, higher at 60 fps). Audio is recorded in mono, which better matches sideline field capture.
- Pinch-to-zoom is now limited to keep recordings looking sharp — zoom stops before digital magnification makes the video look soft or pixelated. Switch to the telephoto lens when you need to get closer.
- Uploads recover faster after network interruptions. The app now times out stuck uploads sooner and retries more quickly when the connection drops, so segments resume uploading without long gaps. 2.4 Aug 10 - While recording, tap the large mic button on the left to mute between innings or during breaks — especially handy in Announcer mode — and tap again to bring commentary back without stopping the shoot. 2.3 Jun 17 - Don't stop record when losing focus on macOS
- Improve User-Agent 2.2.1 Jun 6 - Picking "Announcer" as the perspective now records and uploads audio only, with no video — perfect for commentary tracks. The preview is replaced with an "AUDIO ONLY" indicator so it's obvious what's being captured, and the video pipeline is shut off while recording so it doesn't burn battery on frames nobody uses.
- When only one game is scheduled, the event picker now shows that game's name instead of just "Auto Event," so it's clear which game your recording will be linked to.
- Fixed a rare crash that could occur when tapping Record at the moment the app moved to the background.
- Fixed a rare crash that could occur when the app changed between portrait and landscape orientation.
- The camera preview now stays right-side-up in both landscape orientations — fixes a bug where holding the device one way showed the preview flipped 180°.
- Your camera zoom now sticks around when you switch away from the app and come back, so you don't have to re-pinch to your preferred zoom every time. The first pinch after re-opening also starts from where you left off instead of snapping back to wide.
- Recording now starts with focus locked as before, but you can tap the new lock button on the left sidebar mid-recording to re-enable tap-to-focus, and tap it again to relock — handy when the action moves and you need to refocus without stopping the shoot.
- Reopening the app now retries any pending uploads right away instead of waiting on the previous backoff timer, so a red status from a transient hiccup clears as soon as you come back to AwreStream.
- Recordings now also lock the zoom factor, with a new sidebar button to override the lock when you need to change zoom mid-shoot. Tap the magnifying-glass icon to allow pinch-to-zoom again; tap it once more to re-lock. Outside of recording the toggle still works so accidental pinches don't disturb a pre-game framing. 2.2.0 May 19 * Pause preview while recording to save battery
